WHO WE ARE

Clubs & Units

SHRINE CLUBS

Shrine Clubs are geographically based groups of Shriners who live in the same town or region but may be some distance from the main temple (also called a Shrine Center). Clubs allow members to stay active locally by holding regular meetings, social gatherings, fundraising events, and community outreach activities.

They serve as an extension of the temple in their area — promoting fellowship, supporting Shriners Hospitals for Children, assisting with parades and events, and helping prospective members connect with the fraternity. Shrine Clubs make participation more convenient and accessible while strengthening the organization’s presence in local communities.

In short: Shrine Clubs are location-based groups that bring the Shrine experience closer to home.

Shrine Units

Shrine Units are specialty groups within a temple organized around a shared interest, skill, or function rather than geography. Units often represent the temple in parades, ceremonials, and public events, and many have a strong performance or visual component.

Examples of Units may include ceremonial units, marching groups, motor corps, clown units, pipe and drum corps, transportation units, or other themed teams. Members typically meet regularly to practice, plan, and coordinate their activities.

Units help showcase the fun, pageantry, and fellowship of the Shrine while supporting temple initiatives and charitable efforts.

In short: Shrine Units are interest-based teams within the temple that serve functional, ceremonial, or entertainment roles.
